How I got here?
My pre-teen years were spent growing up in California and at the age of 13 my family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where I then finished school. At 21, I completed my business courses and real estate training at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and proceeded to develop a successful real estate career. Then, as a 23-year-old mother of three, I became the youngest real estate broker in the state of Nevada. My partner-husband Sonny and I proceeded to open a fast-track office with 20 agents close to the Sahara Hotel.
In 1972, we sold our interest in the Real Estaters Group, took our three children (Greg, Gary & Dayna) to Europe, and traveled for 18 months. Upon returning to the United States, we drove from East to West searching for our next home. By the time we arrived back in Nevada to retrieve our belongings, we had decided that Roanoke Virginia would be the place to call home and return to the real estate business.
Since I was a little girl, I had always wanted a horse. So, in 1974, when we came back here looking for our homestead, we purchased a small horse farm. That dream soon turned into a full scale Saddlebred show-horse operation, which later developed into a nationally prominent breeding operation. At one time in the 1980's, we had over 100 horses on the farm at once. This has been scaled back substantially in recent years!
I love dogs, cats, horses and all wildlife. Over the past decade, I have taken the time to enjoy other hobbies and interests, often taking workshops related to holistic health and wellness, yoga, Feng Shui and more. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, theater and music. Being "at home" is very special to me and I really love being involved with helping people find a special place that really suits them.
